I have loved the Sponge Docks since I was a child. And now that I live close by I love to go eat down there, go for walks, have desert at Hellas and possibly have a drink at Shrimp Wrecked!
A no brainer stop for your out of state guests. It's really just little strip of shops and greek restaurants, but we always have a good time taking our families and friends there. It's a nice outdoor walking experience for a little exercise and sunshine enjoyment punctuated with food, coffee, and desserts.
Mostly garage sale shops and hawkers peddling boat rides. Some ok restaurants. Dimitri's is good and Hellas is pretty good. Great desserts. Parking close by can cost from $2-$5. You can park free a bit further up the main Street. Neat soap shop and a shop devoted to hit sauces and spices. Lots of tee-shirt shops. Don't miss the semi hidden shopping area in the center off dodecanese.
This place is over rated! Don't waste you time here since food and atmosphere is 1 star. Just another tourist trap but really bad! You have been warned!
A largely unknown gem in the bay area. It's a great place to spend a day. Lot's of authentic Greek restaurants so make sure you go there hungry.
