This place was awesome and we were well taken care of by the manager I would recommend it very highly
I couldn't have picked a better spot to first time RV in. Hickory Point RV Park is that oasis in a spot where it's least expected. The surroundings and the peace and quiet are amazing. Less than 3 miles from there the whole landscape changes to find all of your needs of restaurants and shopping. The staff and the owners are awesome. Visit them...see for yourself.
Hickory Point is a little gem of a park tucked in on the shores of the beautiful Anclote river. The tropical grounds under sprawling grand oaks are lovely and well maintained. There is a seawall along the waterfront bordering a large grassy area with chairs and picnic tables providing the perfect place to fish, relax and watch the boats go by or the sun set. The floating docks are in good shape as is the paved boat ramp. Sites are level and though not paved are well kept. (My one star deduction was due to our loss of power a couple of times). Staff and campers were friendly and quiet. There is so much to do in immediate area...parks, beaches, restaurants and bars (don't miss Miss Vickie's) and all the unique charm of the sponge docks. Only an hour from my home in Tampa we hope to be back for great weekend getaways again.
The location is great - right on the water. We were with our RV Club and were fortunate enough that one of us brought his Pontoon Boat. We not only enjoyed seeing the river, but were able to be out on the river. The staff was professional and helpful. Definitely a good choice for camping despite the fact that the sites were not slabs.
We have been here one day and we and our fellow campers have lost power three times. We went into town for a couple of hours and came back to a 90 degree motor home. Our dogs were not happy and neither am I. Nice park but on our list of places not to return to.
